Born this day in 1818, novelist and poet, Emily Brontë, was best known for her 1847 novel Wuthering Heights. Did you know that when the book was originally published that it was released under the pseudonym “Ellis Bell”? Sadly Ms. Brontë passed away the year after giving the world the enduring story of Catherine, Heathcliff, and Edgar.
Following her death, her sister, Charlotte (who is best known for her novel Jane Eyre), edited and released an updated version of Wuthering Heights in 1850.
