Horsing Around September
September marks something special not only for the United States but for the state of Kentucky. Being held for the first time outside Europe the World Equestrian Games will take place at the Kentucky Horse Park starting September 25 and run until October 10.
Come check out our special month in celebration of this event.

July 12: Art locker clean out Day!
We’re bringing out all the extra craft projects that have been lurking in the depths of the locker to have a mixed up evening of fun.
 
July 19: Backpack Danglers.
Make sure everyone knows this belongs to you, there not just for backpacks but anything and everything.

July 26: Wooden Slide Whistles.
Old fashion fun is here with a wooden slide whistle that you can decorate in your own style.

May 3: Mother’s Day Lollipop Bouquet. A sweet present for Mom she’s sure to enjoy.

May 10: Lost Sock Memorial Day. Design a pair of socks using fabric markers and many other crafty items. We will also be making a tombstone in memory of all those lost socks. 

May 17: Tin Can herbs. Spice up your life with fresh herbs for a sunny windowsill. 

May 24: DECOUPAGE, What’s this? Decoupage is a fun way to decorate and recycle by making a tote from snack boxes. 

May 31: Library closed for holiday.

Spring is in the air so lets celebrate with some creations to herald in the season

04/05: Spring Mosaic, with air dry clay and other objects we will create a lasting and unique piece of art that you can proudly display.

04/12: Warm weather marks the return of many of our feathered friends. Using a milk jug we will make them a nice home to stay in so they can be enjoyed in your yard.

04/19: April is National Garden Frog Awareness month. Frogs are great garden helpers keeping many pests from destroying our plants and biting us. We will be making our very own beaded garden frog! Let him help you with your keys or keep those pests out of your back pack.

04/26: Caterpillars, caterpillars, caterpillars, everywhere you look are those fuzzy little creatures that become beautiful butterflies. Let’s put our own spin on natures design and create different ones using several interesting techniques.

03/01 kicks off the month with a party so we all can be as mad as a hatter, with our own Mad Hatter Tea Party. We will be serving treats and juice and make our own Hatter Hat.

03/08 is a Un- Birthday celebration for Dr. Seuss. We will be letting our imagination run wild and create our own Seuss creature. Then top everything off by becoming The Cat with our own cat ears.

03/15 is Pot ‘O’ Gold day. Rainbows are rare this time of year but don’t worry you will have your very own pot to put treasures in.

03/22 is the day to add some color to the cold weather blues with a Butterfly Racer. Not only is this awesome to create but a great buddy game to see who can get the butterfly back across faster.

03/29 means Easter is just around the corner and we have the perfect craft for all those mini treats the bunny leaves. Your very own Little Bunny foam treat carrier.

So drop by Mondays from 5:15-7:00 for crafts and fun in the Children’s Library.
