Answers to your most common questions about the library.

How do I get a Library Card?

If you are over the age of 16, then all you need to do is bring in photo id with your current address on it or a photo ID and proof of your current address, such as a piece of mail. Then you fill out a Library Card Application and a Computer Agreement form and and you are ready to go.

If you are under the age of 16, a parent or guardian must accompany you in getting a card. They themselves must have a card and bring photo ID with their current address on it or photo ID as well as proof of address. They sign for your Library Card Application as well as your Computer Agreement.

When are you open?

Our hours of operation are on the bottom righthand side of our website. They are also as follows:

I lost my card. How much is a new one?

It is $1.00 for a replacement card, but you can come by the library and add your picture to your account. With a picture, you just have to tell us your name to use your account. You don't need a physical card anymore!

Do you have WiFi?

We have free WiFi that is open to the public without a password. When you come to the library, connect to the network named wcpl. If you have any trouble with it, ask someone at the front desk.

What's the deal with Freegal?

Freegal is a service that the library provides which allows library users to download 5 songs (or 1 music video and 2 song) per week and stream 3 hours of music per day. The week resets at midnight each Monday morning. Where the library has limited space to add albums into our collection, Freegal gives our patrons access to over 11 million songs which are free to use for personal use.

Can I print/make copies there?

You can. Prints are black and white and are 15 cents a page. Black and white copies are 15 cents a page or 25 cents for front and back. Color copies are 50 cents a page.

What about faxing?

You can send and receive faxes at the library for $1.00 a page. Our fax number is (606)539-9242.

Is there anything I can do online with my card?

Your library card entitles you to a wealth of online resources and all you need is a pin number. You can download e-books and audio books for you tablet, e-reader, smart phone or computer. For information about that click here. Your library card can also get you free music through the website Freegal, test preparation through ePrep and access to several other online databases. You can also use your account to renew your items online, place holds on items and much more. All you need is a pin number.

What's a pin number?

A pin number is a 4-Digit number that you use as a password to access all the cool stuff available with your account. To set one up give us a call, send us an e-mail or stop on by.

I forgot my pin number. Can you tell me what it is?

Once you give us your pin number it stops being visible, even to us. What we can do is replace it for you with a new number. Just e-mail, call or visit us to replace your number.
