Reported to be out this spring, “The Legend of Sigurd and Gudrun” is Tolkien’s retelling of ancient Norse epics. This work was written somewhere between 1920-30 when he was teaching at Oxford University. While the book does not appear to be based on any of his Lord of the Rings works, it may prove to be insightful into his progression as a writer.
