Teen Fiction Spotlight: Maximum Ride

Maximum Ride and her friends are on a mission to save the world.  The first book in the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson is entitled “The Angel Experiment,” but Fang, Maximum, Nudge, Gazzy, Angel and Iggi aren’t angels.  The kids were given wings during mysterious experiments in the laboratories of the shady multi-billion-dollar corporation Itexicon.  There are other mysteries to the kids’ world as well: some of them are developing new, strange powers, and Maximum in particular has shocking connections with a scientist at Itexicon, and one of the leading members of the hideously mutated Erasers, flying agents of the evil corporation.   Maximum Ride is an action-packed race around the world, filled with adventure, romance, secrets and even a talking dog.  Critics and teens alike have heaped praise on Patterson’s blockbuster series.
